Freedom in Christ
Introduction
Freedom is one of humanity's deepest desires.
People long for freedom from fear, guilt, shame, addiction, anxiety, and sin.
While we celebrate the freedoms we enjoy as citizens, God's Word reminds us of a freedom that no government can grant and no circumstance can take away.
Jesus came to set people free.
That is the greatest freedom we can ever experience.
Point 1: Freedom Was God's Plan
From the beginning, God desired His people to live in freedom.
Throughout Scripture we see God delivering His people from slavery, oppression, and bondage.
The Exodus reminds us that God is a Deliverer.
Just as Israel was delivered from Egypt, Christ delivers believers from the bondage of sin.
